Mind Full

As the famous saying goes “A mind is a terrible thing to waste.” That rings true now even more than before, with the explosion of social media and the easy access to content, good and bad. It is up to the individual that consumes the information to decide, either to process it or disregard it.

Mind, a noun defined by http://www.merriam-webster.com as the element of a person that enables them to be aware of the world and their experiences, to think, and to feel; the faculty of consciousness and thought. A thought, defined by http://google.com as an idea or opinion produced by thinking, or occurring suddenly in the mind.

At any given time, one’s mind can be full of thoughts, some thoughts are positive while some are negative. How you organize your mind to prioritize these thoughts will determine which actions are taken, which ones are not, and when. You have to be mindful of what you allow into your space, into your mind. If you plant seeds of doubt, you will not pursue your dreams. But, if you plant seeds of success, you can achieve anything.

Thoughts can be influenced by past and present situations and conversations. Staying in the right frame of mind or in other words, maintaining the right mindset, you will always produce the right thoughts. You can do this by controlling your intake of information. Be it the books or clips you read or the television and radio shows you tune into. Process the information, save only the good information that adds to your growth and delete the bad information that keeps you static.

Planning for the future will also influence your thoughts because current thoughts when put into action will affect your future. Every action you take in life starts out in the mind as a thought. And to every action taken, there is a reaction or a consequence. You have to be very careful of the thoughts you bring forward into action, those actions will have an impact on your life. It could be for the better or it could be for the worst, the outcome is up to you and the thoughts you allow to occupy your mind.

So, if you want a good life, then you have to upgrade the garden of your mind with the seeds of positive thoughts that will produce flowers and not weeds.
